Minitool Micro Drilling Systems
General Information
Minitool's patented micro drilling machines represent a completely new and innovated approach to precision micro drilling. Super hard in-line interchangeable vee bearings replace the conventional ball or sleeve bearings. The drills are mounted within an interchangeable drive pulley and held against the vee bearing by means of a special endless drive belt. The drill now becomes its own spindle, eliminating the runout that is a common factor in conventional machines using ball bearings, sleeve bearings, spindles, collets or chucks.
Minitool, Inc., manufactures manual as well as CNC-controled (automatic) micro drilling systems.
Drills, endmills and special tooling are also manufactured by Minitool, Inc., using our proprietary tool grinding technique.

Minitool's patented interchangeable vee-bearing design is typical on all micro drilling machine models. It eliminates all chucking errors.

Micro Driller 2000

Micro Driller fits all our standard micro drills. This attachment can be placed in an automatic drilling machine or in any Bridgeport mill. Uses Series 1-254HSS and Carbide Micro Drills.

Micro Driller 2000-11

Similar to the model 2000 but features a standard or short yoke diamond vee-bearing,the same as used in our higher priced model machines. It has solid state variable speedcontrol and micro dial infeed. It also features a larger drive motor. Uses Series 3-40 andSeries 125-15 drills as well as 45-35 precision spindle.

Tolerances: Shank diameter: 3.18mm (.125')+.0000'-.0005'.
Tip diameter: +/-.0005'.
MINIMUM ORDER: 2 drills per container.

Minitool«s precision collet spindle 45-35 may be used in all our drilling machines except Ultra Drill 4000, Model L and Micro-Driller 2000. The collet spindle will accept series 1-254 and 1-254C micro drills or any other micro drills having 1mm diameter shanks. Run-Out Tolerance .0005' or less.
MINIMUM ORDER: 2 drills per container.

Series 1-254 and 1-254C micro drills have 1mm diameter shanks (.040') and 25mm (1.0') overall length. Series 1-254 drills are HSS spiral type and contain 9.5% cobalt for excellent cutting and minimum wear. Series 1-254C drills have high density Solid Carbide, spiral type, and are used for work on very hard and tough materials. Series 1-254 drills are available in sizes from .03mm (.0012') to .50mm (.020'). Series 1-254C drills are available in sizes from .10mm (.0039') and up. These drills can also be used in our Model L machine and in our Micro Driller 2000 using drill drive pulley 2000-36.

Tolerances: Shank and tip diameter +/- .005mm (.0002').

MINIMUM ORDER: 5 drills per container.

Our .05mm (.0019”) spiral HSS microdrill has been especially designed for the smallest diameter microdrilling with excellent chip clearing properties.

The 1-254 HSS microdrill line includes this remarkable tool in addition to drills in diameters to .50mm (.020”) diameter in increments of .01mm. (.0004”). Flute lengths 7-10x tip diameter.
Drills in this micro range require the ultimate in microdrilling equipment that assures minimum drill run out. Ordinary microdrilling machines employing collets or chucks cannot assure this. It is for this reason that Minitool has developed a special microdrilling machinewhere precision micro drills, such as the 1-254 series, are held in special vee bearings virtually eliminating drill runout. Our Model L microdrilling machine is simply designed, easy to use, provides, for manual microdrill depth settings, is very economical and highly recommended for use with the 1-254 series drills.

Minitool Punching Machines

When punching and blanking to .10mm (.0039”) or smaller, conventional punch and die methods can no longer be applied. Minitool, Inc. has developed a special kind of tooling for their micro punch presses designed expressly for punching holes in the micro range.

All Minitool micro punch presses are designed and manufactured with features not found on other small punch presses.

• Adjustable punch and die button alignment capabilities rule out any alignment problems caused by lock screws, set screws, etc.
• Preloading of press spindles to eliminate any play assures absolute repeatability.
• Special alloy casting material with all moving and wear parts hardened and ground steel.
• Micro presses are lightweight, portable and have mounting holes.

Optional Features:

• Preloading of spindle for 150TK and 200TK presses (standard on 60HP).
• Larger diameter cylinder and longer stroke for 150AP presses.
• Stereo microscope especially developed for micro punching.
